The parts above are a SMW BB-500/205ES air chuck that has been in
service for 5 years. The customer had not properly maintained the chuck. His oil
lubricator had not been working, allowing the chuck to rust internally. The damage shown
is common, and can be repaired. The sealing surfaces will be all reworked to like new
condition. The chuck will then be pressure tested. Once it passes our tests. We give a 6
month parts and labor warranty. The same warranty you get when purchasing a new chuck.
Over the years we have worked on SMW Systems, SMW Autoblok, Rohm, and Forkardt air chucks.
We have repaired almost all brands of chucks and cylinders.
Manual chucks have their share of problems. Three jaw self centering chucks can start
to lose repeatability. Opening and closing the chuck can get difficult. Both problems can
be repaired. Four jaw chucks have different problems. Master jaws can loosen from chucking
small parts with chucks that have large through holes. Too much master jaw lift or side to
side play? Repairable. Worn screws and thrust bearings? We can manufacture new parts, and
tighten loose master jaws. To bring your chuck back to great condition. The chuck below is
a Noble 28" 4 jaw A20. That has been completely rebuilt.
